Photo Essay: Gardens Through the Lenses

This photo essay examines the design elements and makes discoveries in the Zen garden at Three Wheels, Acton using my personal experience and photography, complemented with the theories and studies of traditional historical gardens – Ryoan-ji garden in Kyoto and Monet’s garden in Giverny, in the discipline of visual art, philosophy and horticulture. This photo essay analyses and challenges the limitations and range of vision and perception through human eyes versus through camera lens in the Zen garden at Three Wheels. It will also discuss the correspondences between the Zen garden and the research method employed on the understanding of life, time and nature.
